Manor House The Monshof
Explore the Monshoef estate on a bicycle tour of the area.
The Monshof owes its name to the first inhabitants of the estate: the Mons family (Moens, Montsgoet, Monts).
In 1863, it was owned by the Streignaert family from Maaseik, who had the manor rebuilt. Then it passed into the hands of the Vandevenne family, who turned it into a country residence with a beautiful garden. They had several trees planted that do not normally belong in the Limburg landscape.
Between the two world wars, the estate became a farm. Of the beautiful garden, only about thirty trees were spared. The tree between the residence and the pond is unique.
The Monshof is privately owned and not accessible. You can only walk or bike past it.
